小华：大卫，你觉得中文难吗？我学了半年，还是觉得语法比较难。

Xiaohua: David, do you think Chinese is difficult? I have been studying for half a year, but I still find grammar difficult.
大卫：别担心，中文越学越有意思，先把基础打好，最后你会发现越来越简单。
dà wèi ： bié dān xīn ， zhōng wén yuè xué yuè yǒu yì sī ， xiān bǎ jī chǔ dǎ hǎo ， zuì hòu nǐ huì fā xiàn yuè lái yuè jiǎn dān 。
David: Don’t worry. The more you learn Chinese, the more interesting it becomes. Lay the basics first, and you will find it becomes easier and easier in the end.
小华：真的吗？你的中文跟老师一样好，平时怎么坚持的？
xiǎo huá ： zhēn de ma ？ nǐ de zhōng wén gēn lǎo shī yí yàng hǎo ， píng shí zěn me jiān chí de ？
Xiaohua: Really? Your Chinese is as good as the teacher's, how do you persist in it?
大卫：我每天固定练习，身边的朋友对我影响很大，有空就一起练中文。
dà wèi ： wǒ měi tiān gù dìng liàn xí ， shēn biān de péng yǒu duì wǒ yǐng xiǎng hěn dà ， yǒu kōng jiù yì qǐ liàn zhōng wén 。
David: I practice regularly every day. My friends around me have a great influence on me. We practice Chinese together when we have time.
小华：听你这么说，我放心多了，我也要坚持，中文越练进步越快。
xiǎo huá ： tīng nǐ zhè me shuō ， wǒ fàng xīn duō le ， wǒ yě yào jiān chí ， zhōng wén yuè liàn jìn bù yuè kuài 。
Xiaohua: Hearing what you say makes me feel more at ease, and I will continue to persevere. The more I practice Chinese, the faster I will improve.
大卫：周末我们去公园，一边锻炼一边练中文，顺便买点儿水果。
dà wèi ： zhōu mò wǒ men qù gōng yuán ， yì biān duàn liàn yì biān liàn zhōng wén ， shùn biàn mǎi diǎn ér shuǐ guǒ 。
David: We go to the park on weekends to practice Chinese while exercising, and buy some fruit along the way.

Xiaohong: There is a Chinese test tomorrow. I have been worried that I will not do well in the test and feel that I am not prepared enough.
阿明：放轻松，你复习得跟我一样认真，最后一定能过。
ā míng ： fàng qīng sōng ， nǐ fù xí dé gēn wǒ yí yàng rèn zhēn ， zuì hòu yí dìng néng guò 。
A Ming: Relax, you have to study as seriously as I do, and you will definitely pass in the end.
小红：那我们先一起复习重点语法，别让担心影响发挥。
xiǎo hóng ： nà wǒ men xiān yì qǐ fù xí zhòng diǎn yǔ fǎ ， bié ràng dān xīn yǐng xiǎng fā huī 。
Xiaohong: Let’s review the key grammar together first, and don’t let worries affect your performance.
阿明：好，你越放松，越容易发挥好，难题慢慢想就行。

Wang Fang: Let’s participate in Chinese cultural activities together and learn more about the local customs.
李明：太好了，活动地点在学校和银行中间，挺方便的。
lǐ míng ： tài hǎo le ， huó dòng dì diǎn zài xué xiào hé yín háng zhōng jiān ， tǐng fāng biàn de 。
Li Ming: That’s great. The event location is between the school and the bank, which is very convenient.
王芳：我越来越觉得，课外活动对学中文影响很大。

上个月我报名参加了中文比赛。一开始我很担心，觉得自己基础差，很难赢。好朋友小华陪我复习，她说我复习得跟她一样认真，只要放平心态就不用怕。她越耐心劝我，我越放心，担心的事一点点变少了。

Last month I signed up for the Chinese competition. I was very worried at first, thinking that my foundation was poor and it would be difficult to win. My good friend Xiaohua accompanies me to review. She said that I review as seriously as she does and that as long as I keep a calm mind, I don’t have to be afraid. The more patiently she persuaded me, the more relieved I became and my worries became less and less.
比赛地点在学校和图书馆中间，我们先坐公交，最后走过去。试卷上的题跟平时练习的一样，我一看见卷子就有信心了。比赛结束后我想，中文越学越有意思，长期的积累对生活影响很大，我对中国的饮食和景点了解得越来越多。
bǐ sài dì diǎn zài xué xiào hé tú shū guǎn zhōng jiān ， wǒ men xiān zuò gōng jiāo ， zuì hòu zǒu guò qù 。 shì juàn shàng de tí gēn píng shí liàn xí de yí yàng ， wǒ yí kàn jiàn juàn zi jiù yǒu xìn xīn le 。 bǐ sài jié shù hòu wǒ xiǎng ， zhōng wén yuè xué yuè yǒu yì sī ， cháng qī de jī lěi duì shēng huó yǐng xiǎng hěn dà ， wǒ duì zhōng guó de yǐn shí hé jǐng diǎn liǎo jiě dé yuè lái yuè duō 。
The competition location was between the school and the library. We took the bus first and then walked there. The questions on the test paper were the same as those I usually practice. I felt confident as soon as I saw the paper. After the competition, I thought that the more I learn Chinese, the more interesting it becomes. The long-term accumulation has a great impact on my life. I know more and more about Chinese food and scenic spots.
之后只要有中文活动，我都会参加。周末和朋友去公园锻炼，一边看绿植一边用中文聊天，买水果和可乐当零食，偶尔还计划去爬山。一天天坚持下来，我的中文跟刚开始学时完全不一样，进步看得见，学习的快乐也越来越多。

From now on, whenever there are Chinese activities, I will participate. On weekends, I go to the park to exercise with my friends, chat in Chinese while looking at the green plants, buy fruits and Cokes as snacks, and occasionally plan to go hiking. As I persevere day by day, my Chinese is completely different from when I first started learning it. I can see the progress and enjoy learning more and more.
