Dà Míng, wǒ gōngsī lí jīchǎng hái yǒu duō yuǎn? Wǒ hái méi dào guò jīchǎng ne!
Da Ming, how far is my company from the airport? I've never even been to the airport yet!

公司离机场挺远的呢！坐公共汽车要两个小时，路上还有很多红灯。
Gōngsī lí jīchǎng tǐng yuǎn de ne! Zuò gōnggòng qìchē yào liǎng gè xiǎoshí, lù shàng hái yǒu hěn duō hóngdēng.
The company is quite far from the airport! Taking the bus takes two hours, and there are still many traffic lights on the road.

Two hours! The bus is really too slow! Can't we just walk?

Then by bus — which road is faster to take? We haven't even set off yet and I'm already worried about being late!

Xiao Hua, is the classroom far from the bus stop? I still haven't found the stop yet.

Jiàoshì lí zhàn bù yuǎn ne, zǒulù jiù shí fēnzhōng jiù dào le!

小李在一家公司工作，她的公司离教室不远，但离机场很远，坐公共汽车要两个小时呢！
Xiǎo Lǐ zài yī jiā gōngsī gōngzuò, tā de gōngsī lí jiàoshì bù yuǎn, dàn lí jīchǎng hěn yuǎn, zuò gōnggòng qìchē yào liǎng gè xiǎoshí ne!
Xiao Li works at a company. Her company is not far from the classroom, but very far from the airport — by bus it takes two hours!

每天早上，小李走出教室，沿着这条路往前走，就可以到公共汽车站了，走路只要十分钟。
Měitiān zǎoshang, Xiǎo Lǐ zǒu chū jiàoshì, yánzhe zhè tiáo lù wǎng qián zǒu, jiù kěyǐ dào gōnggòng qìchē zhàn le, zǒulù zhǐ yào shí fēnzhōng.
Every morning, Xiao Li walks out of the classroom and along this road, and she can reach the bus stop — just ten minutes on foot.

公共汽车有时慢，有时快，遇到堵车的时候，公共汽车还没过那条路呢，就已经等了半个小时了！
Gōnggòng qìchē yǒushí màn, yǒushí kuài, yùdào dǔchē de shíhòu, gōnggòng qìchē hái méi guò nà tiáo lù ne, jiù yǐjīng děng le bàn gè xiǎoshí le!
The bus is sometimes slow, sometimes fast. When there's traffic, the bus still hasn't passed that road, yet you've already waited half an hour!

但是如果路上很快，从公司到机场就一个小时就到了，小李觉得这条路还不错呢！
Dànshì rúguǒ lù shàng hěn kuài, cóng gōngsī dào jīchǎng jiù yī gè xiǎoshí jiù dào le, Xiǎo Lǐ juéde zhè tiáo lù hái bú cuò ne!
But if the road is clear, from the company to the airport is just one hour. Xiao Li thinks this route is not bad at all!

今天，小李还没过那条路，公共汽车就到站了，她高兴地说："今天路上好快呢！"
Jīntiān, Xiǎo Lǐ hái méi guò nà tiáo lù, gōnggòng qìchē jiù dào zhàn le, tā gāoxìng de shuō: "Jīntiān lù shàng hǎo kuài ne!"
Today, Xiao Li hadn't even passed that road yet when the bus arrived at the stop. She said happily: "The road is so fast today!"

小李到了公司以后，给朋友发消息说："教室离公司很近，但公司离机场好远呢！下次你来，还是坐飞机到机场再走过来吧！"
Xiǎo Lǐ dào le gōngsī yǐhòu, gěi péngyǒu fā xiāoxi shuō: "Jiàoshì lí gōngsī hěn jìn, dàn gōngsī lí jīchǎng hǎo yuǎn ne! Xià cì nǐ lái, háishì zuò fēijī dào jīchǎng zài zǒu guòlái ba!"
After arriving at the company, Xiao Li sent a message to a friend: "The classroom is close to the company, but the company is so far from the airport! Next time you come, just fly to the airport and walk over!"
